Uber driver fined $1200 for using criminal force on Tower Transit bus driver – The Straits Times


SINGAPORE – An Uber driver manhandled a bus driver when the latter took photographs of an Uber automotive and trailer which have been inflicting an obstruction.

Spencer Tay Boon Wan, 43, was fined $1,200 on Wednesday (Sept 13) after he admitted to using criminal force on Mr Modavan Mohideen Sahul Hamid, 47, on Oct 26, 2016.

Investigations confirmed that at about three.10pm that day, Mr Mohideen was driving Tower Transit service quantity 284 on the roundabout beside Block 307, Clementi Avenue four, Clementi Meadows.

There have been two automobiles parked there which have been inflicting an obstruction – Tay’s automotive and a trailer.

Mr Mohideen tried to manoeuvre the bus across the roundabout and was capable of transfer ahead solely with problem.

He received down from the bus and requested the drivers to maneuver their automobiles. He then took photographs of the 2 automobiles.

When Tay noticed this, he alighted from his automotive and approached Mr Mohideen.

“During the confrontation, while the accused was standing in front of and facing the victim, the accused tapped the victim twice on the shoulder and grabbed his left collar once using his right hand,” stated Deputy Public Prosecutor Quek Jing Feng.

A passenger on the bus – a 35-year-previous insurance coverage dealer – noticed what occurred and referred to as the police. He then alighted and intervened. Tay returned to his automotive and drove off earlier than the police arrived.

The sufferer didn’t search any medical remedy after the incident.

Tay might have been jailed for as much as three months and/or fined as much as $1,500 for using criminal force.
