San Mateo Co. Man Pleads Not Guilty To Attacking Uber Driver With Bat – CBS San Francisco Bay Area


SAN MATEO COUNTY (CBS SF) – A 55-year-previous Montara man has pleaded not responsible to fees alleging that he hit an Uber driver within the head with a baseball bat after complicated him together with his daughter’s boyfriend, San Mateo County prosecutors stated Monday.

Marc Orrante pleaded not responsible Friday to fees together with assault and elder abuse in reference to the June 19 assault, based on the district lawyer’s workplace.

San Mateo County sheriff’s deputies had responded to the scene in Montara and located a 65-year-previous Uber driver bleeding profusely from his head.

Orrante allegedly thought the journey-hailing service driver was his daughter’s boyfriend making an attempt to get her to maneuver again with him. The sufferer required staples to shut his head wound however survived the assault, prosecutors stated.

Orrante is out of bail on $25,000 and Judge Gilbert Brown denied a request by prosecutors to extend bail to $110,000. He will return to courtroom on Sept. 6 for the preliminary listening to.

Orrante’s protection lawyer Michael Devoy was not instantly out there to touch upon the case.
