A police vehicle hit an Uber in a violent crash that has shut down a street in D.C. Monday morning.

D.C. Police say the Uber driver and the feminine police officer have been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening accidents.

D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham says the officer rear-ended the the Uber on seventh Street NW. Officials say the officer was responding to a name with lights and sirens on.

The crash left police vehicle with main injury.

D.C. Traffic Police say police exercise has closed the 1700 block of seventh Street NW in each instructions.
