PRETORIA – An Uber driver has died after struggling critical burn wounds when his car was set alight allegedly by meter taxi drivers.
The driver was in his car when it was torched outdoors Loftus Versveld in Pretoria 5 weeks in the past.
He survived, however suffered in depth burn wounds.
The Uber Drivers Movement says he was recovering, however died unexpectedly on Monday morning.
The motion says he was focused throughout an ongoing turf war between Uber and meter taxi drivers.
The meter taxi business has accused Uber drivers of stealing their enterprise, calling the experience hailing service unlawful.
