NEWTON, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man who drove for journey-hailing firm Uber has been charged with raping a feminine passenger.
Prosecutors say 34-year-previous Luis Baez used a pretend identify when he picked up a lady in Boston final September, drove her to a location aside from the place she requested, and assaulted her.
Authorities say Baez then drove the lady to Boston College and dropped her off. She reported the alleged assault to campus police. Prosecutors didn’t say whether or not she was a scholar there.
Police tracked the suspect from info saved within the lady’s Uber app.
The suspect was launched on $2,500 bail after pleading not responsible to 3 counts of rape on Tuesday.
Uber referred to as the fees “a horrible crime” and stated the suspect’s Uber account has been blocked.
